Welcome to Garden Revelry's Blog

I am writing this with both excitement and trepidation. You, see, while I'm excited to share all things container gardening with you, writing doesn't always come easily to me. I am stepping oustide of my comfort zone, so to speak, to provide insights, tips, resources and inspiration. Hopefully, this blog will encourage you to take up container gardening, connect with nature, and build confidence in creating your own stunningly beautiful container gardens.

A quick bit about me and my company, Garden Revelry. I am a mom, daughter, sister, wife, and lover of people, plants, and places. Container gardening is my expertise—I am a certified professional horticulturist who has been designing, planting and maintaining container gardens for over 12 years. I’ve learned a lot through the years and have many nuggets of advice I want to share so others can enjoy similar successes with container gardening.

I started Garden Revelry with the vision of offering customized design, installation and maintenance services, while also providing resources to individuals who want to create their own container plantings reflective of their lifestyle. I love what I do, and what inspires me most is sharing my craft with others, whether it be transforming a client’s outdoor patio, or coaching an individual in their own endeavors to enhance their living spaces through plants.

I believe firmly that creativity looks different on different people, and try my best to honor this. My primary goal is to help my clients recognize their own goals and visions, the piece of identity and personality that only they can bring to this work. I’ve met many people who think they just aren’t cut out for container gardening—I used to be one of them, a person who never considered herself a “creative”. With Garden Revelry, I strive to show my clients that everyone has a green thumb or a creative mindset. All it takes is a little guidance, inspiration, and encouragement.

Why blog about Container Gardening? How does it relate to what’s happening in the world today? What rewards can it offer? What’s my inspiration? I’ve done a lot of thinking on those questions as of late. The short answer is that I believe that connecting with nature can help us through trying times. I am certain that gardening makes people happy, grounds us, offers respite, and can be a powerful antidote to the stresses we endure. I am passionate about coloring our world with beauty. Although this blog might not change the world today, or even tomorrow, it can bring you a little joy and knowledge, and nurture and inspire you to creation. And, I can have a little fun sharing ideas, how-to’s, latest trends and a little eye candy with you along the way!
